TheCCA360.com is a Web site intended to provide factual information about Corrections Corporation of America – from its quality private prison management services and programs, to its more than 17,000 employees that support the 66 facilities it operates.

Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) Mission Statement

Read first hand here stories and views shared by CCA employees and other citizens on the company and its impact in our communities.

It’s difficult to separate the facts from the reported myths about private prisons and CCA, especially if you follow some news accounts that rely on sources who are politically or professionally biased against the overall privatization of our nation’s prisons.

TheCCA360.com disputes the most common reported myths here.

It's Time You Heard The Truth For A Change

John Ferguson, CEO of Corrections Corporation of America (CCA)Recently, after picking up the local daily paper in my driveway and reading another misleading, front-page story about my company, I told my wife at the kitchen table, “CCA’s side of the story must be told.”

Regrettably, the editors of some of our local newspapers have admitted to me they ideologically oppose private prisons and, as such, Corrections Corporation of America. Despite our quality, value to taxpayers, and the reality that many other government services are achieved through public-private partnerships, they say we shouldn’t exist. I believe news coverage of CCA conveys this bias.

For 25 years, Corrections Corporation of America – founded and headquartered in Nashville – has followed the highest business ethics standards, with commitment to providing leading corrections management services. FORBES magazine ranked CCA as “The Best Managed Company” in the U.S. in business services. And, Corporate Responsibility Officer magazine named us among the top “100 Best Corporate Citizens.”

We operate prisons and jails. It’s admittedly a challenging environment. If I didn’t work for CCA and knew the company only based on some local media, I, like possibly some of you, might have a concerned opinion of the company. Those who know us best – our customers and employees – believe in our mission and trust us. Thankfully, many of you in the community also know us personally and realize there is more to the stories than what is published.

For people seeking the unfiltered, full 360-degree view of CCA, we have created this Web site - TheCCA360.com. This site provides greater detail about news coverage of CCA, including the publicized tragic death of an inmate in a CCA facility, and viewpoints we’ve shared with our customers and employees.

Our 600 employees in Nashville, our 2,000 across this state and our 17,000 across the country deserve balanced coverage of CCA. And you deserve it, too.

John Ferguson, CCA Chairman and CEO

This is a very good thing that we as a company stand up for ourselves. A lot of our employees come from the state system or the BOP. They come because we are true professionals and we do it better. This company takes care of the people who work here and actually care about the staff. What makes other people better suited then Dr. Seiter or Jimmy Turner...... Nothing. Where did they come from... Public sector. Keep leading us in the right direction, we in the field are greatful.

I've worked as a teacher for a state prison and also CCA. CCA's security measures and programming offerings far exceed the accomplishments of the state facility. A company such as CCA often has a stronger mission focus that allows for stability, (while government run facilities can easily be self-defeating by way of conflicting agendas and subsequent budget cuts.) For instance, while CCA cuts costs on materials, they do not cut costs where it counts – staff. A state facility nearby, serving approximately the same amount of inmates, has not even one third of the education staffing the similiar CCA facility employs.

I am proud to see CCA put this site up. Finally standing up and saying something. It always made me mad to see negative things in the paper about CCA. CCA is a great company, and I for one am proud of CCA, proud to be employed with CCA. Great job Mr. Ferguson, and all those at FSC!!!!! Keep it up!!!!!

I am sadened when I continually see the media blast the company that I work for. I know how we treat inmates, and after working at the state level for a short time I think that the treatment of inmates is the same or of better quality at CCA. There are two sides to every story, but the media won't print the good things we do because that doesn't sell papers. I am proud to be working for CCA. If the horrible things were true that have been published, I wouldnt be working for CCA.

As a small business owner in Nashville our company spent 3 years working with CCA to develop online training programs for their employees. I went to prison. It is not what you see in the movies where its hard to tell the staff from the prisoners. Instead I saw a very professional and dedicated group of employees. These "editors of some of our local newspapers (that) have admitted to (John) they ideologically oppose private prisons" don't know what they are talking about. They need to "go to a CCA prison" and then compare it to a state owned prison such as the Kentucky State Prison at Eddyville.

Finally! A ceo who realizes you don't have to just sit there and take what agenda-based "reporters" dish out! Way to go, Mr. Ferguson!
